A luxury housing development will feature a floating garden gazebo as an attractive focal point for future residents.

Construction work has begun on the Sanctum site in Sydney, Australia, close to the city's Olympic Park.

According to the World Interior Design Network, an outdoor feature will have a "seemingly" floating gazebo, which can be accessed by an adjoining path.

In total, the whole project will cost AUS$110 million (£69 million) to build and will also feature a rooftop garden terrace and gym.

The interior design of the site will have a fusion of Asian influences, the news provider stated.

However, the development is likely to be exclusively for upmarket residents, as the Sanctum will offer 149 separate penthouse apartments, with panoramic water and city skyline views.

Homeowners can still take some of this influence into their own garden, however, by installing a thatched gazebo to add elegance to outdoor space.

Garden owners can also take tips from designer Hannah Barnes, who said that "deep aubergines, luxurious midnight blues and crisp shades of teal" are top interior trends for this season.
