More Summer Houses Articles A new summer house has been built for youths in Bexhill.
Using a £4,600 grant from East Sussex's YouthBank scheme, the new building will provide a useful communal area for residents at a supported housing scheme for homeless 16-25-year-olds by Sanctuary Housing, The Bexhill Observer reported.
To furnish the summer house, local charity Hastings Furniture Service, donated items and Sanctuary now plan to use £4,000 to buy computers and provide internet access from the summer house for its new owners.
Project manager Cathy Wilson told the news source that the young residents were involved with every stage of the process, from writing the bid for funding to painting and decorating the summer house.
"They are incredibly pleased with their new communal area and were thrilled to show it off to our guests," she remarked.
Homeowners could find that a summer house provides an attractive feature to a garden, all year round.
