More Log Cabins Articles Homeowners seeking to make upgrades to their properties have been advised to take advantage of the government's pledge to invest £1 billion into a green investment bank.
Blane Judd, chief executive at the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering, suggested that people could use such cash incentives to reduce their energy consumption by making changes around their properties. Keen gardeners may be among those looking to make their log cabins and other garden structures more energy-efficient.
"Because plumbing and heating engineers are at the front line of carbon saving, this is a great opportunity for them," said Mr Judd.
"It is also a great opportunity for the industry to start to move in encouraging consumers to engage in renewable energy sources and identifying ways that they can finance, so that they can embrace the technologies for the benefit of the consumer and the environment."
The green investment bank measure was announced yesterday (October 20th) by chancellor George Osborne as part of the Comprehensive Spending Review.
