More Log Cabins Articles An Essex landlord has explained how he was able to turn a log cabin into a cosy home that he can enjoy this Christmas period.
Brian Ayling, 64, who owns and lets out a flat at Ennismore Gardens in Prittlewell, built a log cabin in the grounds of the block with full planning permission in 2004, the Essex Echo reported.
Speaking to the newspaper, Mr Ayling revealed he had been living in the cabin, which has running water and heating, since December 2009.
"I first had the cabin for my children and they loved it down there, so I put in a sewerage pipe for them and it grew from there," he said.
"I added a small kitchen and a bathroom and I even have a coal-burning fireplace."
Earlier this month, meanwhile, BBC News reported that a log cabin structure had been erected to house a community of lizards displaced by a major construction project in Dartford.
