More Log Cabins Articles A parkland preservation group is hoping to win a Green Flag Award after securing new investment for an open space in East Sussex.
Princes Park in Eastbourne is set to receive nearly £300,000 of investment over the next two years, which will go towards refurbishments to the bowling greens and upgrades to a paddling pool, among other changes, the Eastbourne Herald reported.
Formed in 2005, the Friends of Princes Park group has played a key role in helping the council improve the parkland area, with work in recent years including the replacement of an ornamental archway over the main entrance and the planting of a sensory garden where an old rose garden once was.
Homeowners and organisations seeking to improve garden areas could also choose to erect stylish garden buildings like a log cabin or garden office.
Speaking to the newspaper, Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet member for the environment Steve Wallis said: "With further investment planned for 2011-2012, preparatory work is now underway by the Parks and Gardens Group to enter Princes Park for the Green Flag Award."
