More Log Cabins Articles Wood preservatives manufacture Cuprinol has lent its backing to the Shed of the Year 2011 competition as hosted on readersheds.co.uk.
The company is offering a £1,000 prize for the best shed to be photographed and shared on the site, with "wintry looking" sheds perhaps standing a particularly good chance, the South Wales Echo reported.
Indeed, the newspaper noted that the recent weather has given many a sheds a "lovely" winter appearance, with many snow-covered structures boasting a look "straight out of a fairytale".
Meanwhile, Chris Crombie from Kingston Upon Thames, who is renowned on readersheds.co.uk for his own garden shed, said: "It was planned to accommodate an existing tree rather than fell it and is clad in rough-sawn larch in order that it weathers to become part of the garden backdrop rather than standout.
"It provides a fully-functional heated and insulated space for both working and storage."
